In a bid to foster collaboration and expand their knowledge base, CG3 embarked on an enriching outing on September 19, 2023. The day's agenda included visits to renowned research institutions and a delightful evening of camaraderie at Kemnadersee.

The highlight of the outing was a visit to the prestigious Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Systems IEG in Bochum. CG3's delegation had the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and innovations in energy infrastructures and geothermal systems. The visit aimed to strengthen ties between the institutions and explore potential avenues for collaborative projects.

Following the insightful visit, the delegation proceeded to the Deutsches Bergbau-Museum Bochum, where they delved into the rich history of mining in the region. The museum offered a comprehensive look into the evolution of mining technologies and their impact on the industrial landscape. The excursion provided a valuable historical context for CG3's researchers, enhancing their understanding of the industry's development.

The day concluded with a relaxing barbecue at Kemnadersee, a picturesque lake nestled in the heart of Bochum. Against the backdrop of nature, attendees had the chance to unwind and engage in informal discussions, fostering a sense of community within the institute. The BBQ not only provided a platform for networking but also facilitated the exchange of ideas in a more relaxed setting.
